The Giraffe & African Animals - Zazu

The Giraffe

From the open plains come soft grinding,
Whilst the moon climbs higher into the darkening painted sky,
A hesitant giraffe munches on a once blossoming tree,
Stretching her elegant neck taller and taller into the waving branches,
As the tree stands proud, the giraffe is rooted to the spot,

Thirst; Wading toward the welcoming waters edge,
Spreading her slender dappled legs and dangling her tired mouth,
Rippling on the stillness of the glistening water,
Her long eyelashes flutter in the reflection,
She drinks.

African Animals

Angry antelopes charging through the
desert in their rage to get to the river!
Feisty cheetahs raid the jungle, shredding
the flesh of their prey!
Relaxed rhinos watch casually when the
leopards race after the elegant leaping
Antelopes!
Invinsible elephants stomp around the noisy
jungle munching on the leaves loudly!

Cruel vultures swoop down to land killing
other innocent animals with their razor
sharp claws ripping the other animals to
shreds!
Amazing giraffes bat their eyelashes slowly
walking from tree to tree silently eating
the leaves!
