Day One:
Today we met everyone inside our groups, and mainly just got to know each other by talking and really working well as a group. This experience was really good, and not only did we make some new friends, but we managed to get plenty of work done and worked really well as a team.
First of all we read a poem called, Zebra, which was followed by much decision of the meaning and of how we felt about the poem. We then had to choose our favourite line and pick three or four pictures that described this line in our opinions. This was followed by our own poem writing, we learned about the different types of poem and some of the main techniques to use in our poems.
After this we had to use some of our own pictures to make our mood boards of Africa. This really helped us learn a lot about the culture and ways of life in Africa. Some people used pieces of fabrics, colouring pens and pencils, magazine cut outs and pictures. In this we had to work really well as a team and to get it done whilst having a laugh.
We then played a game of limbo. Which we learned was from the slave ships, to keep them moving. This was a really good way to finish off the day and a whole load of fun!
Overall the day was really great and I am pretty sure that most people are looking forward to the next day, but especially Wednesdays trip to see the lion king!

Day Two:
Today we went to the art room and made masks for the end play. The masks we made were of animals and African tribe people. Alfie and I made the tribal masks from the Fusaa the others made animals that would be killed in the end play.
After break Gemma and Steven went and did the music for the play and Dorothy and Bethany did the set design in a shoe box then we did creative writing and it was the end of the day.
