Zazu Set Design

Zazu’s shoebox

Our set design was based on the African jungle. We were asked to make and design a set which would be our ideal set if we had enough time and money. In our set we put a waterhole to represent where the animals drink and bathe in the jungle. We put straw on the floor to represent the dusty ground of Africa. We also hung up colourful birds to show the amazing different birds in the African jungle. We added curtains and a fringe to make our shoebox set look more like a real stage.

How we made our set

Firstly we used cardboard and tissue to make our background; we made our scene a daytime scene by using light colours. Secondly we made a spinning waterhole and drew a tree to make our set look more like a jungle. After that we laid down glitter and straw for our floor. Then we made colourful African birds out of feathers, pipe cleaners and a pom pom. We then made a rock out of polystyrene and painted it gold; we then stuck pipe cleaners on the top as tassels. Lastly we found some cheetah print fabric and cut out curtains and a fringe for our stage set. This is how we made our ideal stage set.
