Monday 24th August
Today was the first day of the summer camp. We done a poetry workshop which was where we looked at poems and created one of our own. We made a mood board, within our groups, where we had to stick items to a white piece of cardboard such as, information, pictures and pieces of cloth, all in relation to Africa.
The best part of the day for me, was doing the mood board and meeting new friends. I think everyone here is happy to be making new friends.

Today when we arrived at school at 8:30 we finished of our mood board for half an hour. Then we made our way down to the art room where we started to make our masks in our group me and Jack Norris are zebra’s and Jade Jackson and Molly Craggs are lions.
I really enjoyed making the masks because it was exciting and I like arty stuff. We then had a break at 11 till 11:30. Jack and molly went of to do the st6age set and jade done the creative writing on lions and I chose the music for our play which we are doing at the end of the week.

Wednesday 26th August
Today our first activity was completing our mask to use for the performance on Friday. A lot of us still had improvements to do or complete there masks. But a few people didn’t come on Tuesday so they didn’t start there masks so a few of us were rushing around to try and get there complete as well as ours. The extra time to complete our mask was very good so we could perfect our masks to a high standard. I’m extremely pleased with my mask I like the way it has turned out. Everyone’s mask turned out amazingly good they were all done extremely well.
After our lunch break we all got on the coach to go to see the Lion King in the west end. On the coach it was a good laugh, we were all telling jokes and just having a good time. Then we got to Lion King and we all lined up outside. Then we went inside and went straight to my seat, but everyone else went and bought the over priced souvenirs and just got ripped off! Of course Miss Jackson wanted some sweets so I gave her some and she got about 10 peoples sweets! The show was amazing, the performance was just fantastic and the costumes were outstanding. Our masks had no comparison to those in the Lion King ours were amazing but there’s were mind blowing! The movement of the actors and actresses was just like animal especially the leopard and the zebras. My favourite character has to be Pumba he was really funny in the play, most of the play was funny. Overall the okay was really good and I can’t wait to see it again. The hazy lights made me tired so I can’t wait to go to bed, it wasn’t the play the made me tired, honest. I can’t wait till tomorrow and Friday.
